This Privacy Statement explains how Digital Confluence will handle your personal information when you access and interact with this website.

2. We intend for this website to be used anonymously. However, some functions may involve the collection of personal information when necessary.  This includes:

  • Responses to any online surveys which we conduct on this website
  • When you provide any message or comment to us on this website
  • When you click through to this website from any email received from Digital Confluence
  • When you subscribe to receive newsletters on this website.

3. We will only use personal information provided for the purposes for which it was collected, or for a secondary purpose where we are permitted to do so under the Privacy and Data Protection Act, 2014.

5. This website uses cookies to make your experience of the site easier and more efficient. A cookie is a small data file placed on your hard drive by a web page server. Measuring the usage of our website

6. Digital Confluence uses Google Analytics to collect data to track how our visitors interact with this website. This data includes the number of visits, the time and date of visits and its pages, where the user came from, what the user did on the site and whether the user has completed any transactions on the site such as newsletter registration. This information is anonymous and is used for statistical purposes.

8. Collection of personal information. We collect personal information in relation to any event or program that you participate in whether that is delivered by Digital Confluence exclusively or in partnership with others, and whether the program is delivered in-person or online.

9. Methods of collection. Information may be collected in a number of ways: 

a. through application forms (online or otherwise), subscribe to a mailing or communication list, for the purpose of providing news, information, offers or other services in accordance with our terms and conditions

b. competition entries or promotions

c. order or registration forms for events or programs we run

d. from telephone, email, written or in-person queries in order to respond to the queries

e. from business contacts including contracts and business cards

f. from online or hard copy surveys, to review, analyse and follow up on results

g. from messages  or comments submitted through our websites which may include your personal information

h. from public registers including social networks such as LinkedIn, Facebook or Instagram

10. Information that is collected

a. We aim to collect personal information to fulfil the purpose for which you have disclosed it, or as required by law

b. If you ask us to provide you with information, goods or services, sign up for a mailing list, submit a competition entry form

c. In some instances, we may ask for additional information to provide you with the goods and services you have requested

d. We aim to only collect information that is absolutely necessary to provide you with any service requested. If you prefer to remain anonymous, we are happy to still deal with you provided that we don’t need to know who you are. Instances where this may be possible include the provision of anonymous feedback that does not require a response.

e. We do not collect sensitive personal information

11. Storage of personal information

a. Any information we collect about you is kept securely by us unless an event beyond our control disrupts the measures we have in place to protect your information. We use up to date security measures to ensure the security of data we keep and to prevent unauthorised access, destruction, use, modification or disclosure. 

b. We will only store personal information for so long as it is required either to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected or to fulfill our obligations at law. We will conduct regular reviews of the personal information we hold and destroy or de-identify information no longer required

12. Disclosure of personal information

Generally, personal information shall not be disclosed to individuals or organisations outside of the company without your prior consent. However, in the following circumstances, personal information may be disclosed to:

a. essential service providers that we rely on to provide goods and services to you

b. law enforcement or government agencies, where a legitimate request is sent to us and we must comply, we will do so without your consent

13. Overseas disclosure. 

Like many organisations, we use IT infrastructure and service providers who are based or hosted in countries other than Australia including the United States, New Zealand, United Kingdom and Malaysia. Where we have a relationship with such providers, we ensure we complete a privacy due diligence on their practices and procedures. Australian law may not apply in some of these jurisdictions.

Accessing and correcting personal information

14. You may request access, at any time, to any personal information we may have collected about you.

15. We will take reasonable steps to ensure that personal information is accurate, complete and up to date whenever we collect, disclose or use it. Please feel free to contact us if you believe your personal information is not accurate or up to date.

16. You have the right to update or correct the personal information we hold about you. We do not charge a fee to correct personal information held.

17. On review of your request, if we agree that the personal information held is not accurate, complete and up to date, it will be corrected by the appropriate person. If we do not agree, you will be provided with the reason for the views and the opportunity to make a statement of your view.

18. You have a right to complain if you are concerned about your privacy, If you are concerned about how we have dealt with your personal information, you should first contact us. We will endeavour to send you a written response within 10 business days.

By using these sites, you signify your acceptance of our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use our sites or provide us with your personal information. We reserve the right to modify, alter or otherwise update this policy from time to time.
