February 2025 Canberra — The ACT Women’s Awards rolled around again. These awards recognise women and gender diverse people who have made outstanding contributions to the lives of women and girls in the ACT.
I was so thrilled to be invited once again this year to run a workshop and support these Awards finalists as they face the media and general public. These are amazing ladies who are doing such great work.
And hey, even better .. look who I bumped into at the workshop 😍 I met my Audrey Fagan Leadership and Communication 2023 workshop alumni, Lauren Cannell and Asefeh Zeinalabedini Charandabi.
ACT WOMEN'S AWARDS 2024
February 2025 Canberra –Have you developed your elevator pitch yet?
If not, now may be the best time to start, regardless of whether you are actively looking for a new role or not. This activity yields benefits repeatedly across various situations: meeting new people, engaging in networking activities, pitching new services and products, making a positive first impression, increasing your confidence, and gaining more clarity on how to communicate who you are and what you do.
I had the privilege of attending the 2024 ACT Women’s Awards Nominee Workshop last week, designed to help nominees understand what is involved if they win an ACT Women’s Award and to provide them with support in a few key ways. I am grateful for the opportunity to speak to the nominees about how to make the best of the media opportunities coming their way.
The ACT Women’s Awards are presented to women who improve the status and lives of women and girls in the ACT. Each year, the awards recognise a Woman of the Year, a Young Woman of the Year, and a Senior Woman of the Year.
It was an amazing afternoon, filled with lots of inspiring stories as each nominee got the chance to share a little about who they are and the valuable work they are doing.
Remember, develop your elevator pitch today. Start crafting it now, so it’s ready to support you whenever you need it.
